Sandy Grushow (born April 3, 1960) is an American media executive and the CEO of Phase Two Media, an advisory practice focused on the media and technology industries. He is the former Chairman of theFox Television Entertainment Group and former Chief Content Officer at MediaLink. He most recently served on the Board of Advisors and the Board of Directors atTubi.[1]

Early life and education

Grushow was born to aJewish family on April 3, 1960, inNew York City.[2] He graduatedsumma cum laude andPhi Beta Kappa from theUniversity of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with a B.A. in Communication Studies.[3]

Fox

Grushow worked for nearly 25 years at theFox Entertainment Group, holding a series of executive positions. He began his career in feature film marketing atTwentieth Century Fox, rising to Vice President and contributing to promotional campaigns for motion pictures includingBig,Die Hard, andBroadcast News.

In 1988, he was appointed Senior Vice President of Advertising and Promotions at theFox Broadcasting Company, where he oversaw the launch ofThe Simpsons,In Living Color,Cops, andBeverly Hills, 90210.[4]

He was appointed President of the network’s entertainment division in 1992 at the age of 32.[5] During this period, the network introducedThe X-Files,Melrose Place, andParty of Five, and expanded from four to seven nights of primetime programming. In 1996, he was appointed President of20th Century Fox Television.

In 1999, Grushow returned to the network as Chairman of the Fox Television Entertainment Group, overseeing both the network and studio operations.[6] The group developed and launched series includingAmerican Idol,24, andHouse.

Phase Two Media and advisory roles

In 2010, Grushow joined MediaLink as Chief Content Officer, providing strategic guidance to clients in the marketing, media, and technology sectors.[7]

He subsequently launched his own advisory practice, Phase Two Media, where he serves as CEO. The firm provides strategic guidance to media and technology companies. In this capacity, he served as a board member ofThe Weather Company and was a longtime advisor and board member atTubi, the ad-supported streaming service acquired byFox Corporation in 2020.[8]

Personal life

Grushow resides inLos Angeles and has two sons.
