He is now member of program advisory board of International Center for Theoretical Sciences (ICTS). He is also the recipient of theInfosys Prize 2010 in the category ofPhysical Sciences.[3]
He completed hismaster of science (Integrated) in physics fromIIT Kanpur in 1985. He was awarded hisPhD in 1990 fromCaltech,Pasadena, USA. Later he went on to work as apost-doctoralresearch associate atIAS,Princeton until 1992.
