TheSandakan District (Malay:Daerah Sandakan) is anadministrative district in theMalaysian state ofSabah, part of theSandakan Division which includes the districts ofBeluran,Kinabatangan, Sandakan,Telupid, andTongod. The capital of the district is inSandakan City.
There are three members of parliament (MPs) representing the threeparliamentary constituencies in the district:Libaran (P.184),Batu Sapi (P.185), andSandakan (P.186).
Sandakan district is the third largest of Sabah's 25 districts, with 396,290 inhabitants afterKota Kinabalu andTawau.[1]
