Thesecretary of state for foreign affairs, political affairs, international economic cooperation and digital transition (Italian:Segretario di Stato per gli affari esteri, gli affari politici, la cooperazione economica internazionale e la transizione digitale) is theminister for foreign affairs ofSan Marino.
Together with the secretary of state for the interior and thesecretary of state for finance, the foreign affairs secretary is one of the three members of the executiveCongress of State directly appointed by theGrand and General Council, the parliament of the republic. Due to the absence of the office of prime minister in the constitutional structure of San Marino, the foreign affairs secretary is traditionally regarded as the head of the Sammarinese government.[1]
Between 27 December 2016 and 7 January 2020, the foreign affairs secretary wasNicola Renzi of the Adesso.smleft-wing coalition. Since 7 January 2020, the Secretary for Foreign Affairs has beenLuca Beccari of theSammarinese Christian Democratic Party.
