Salter Oval (known prior to 1945 as theWest End Recreation Reserve) is acricket ground inBundaberg,Queensland,Australia. The first recorded match on the ground came in 1948 when Queensland Country Women playedEngland Women.[1] It held its onlyfirst-class match in 1981 whenQueensland played the touringNew Zealanders.[2] TwoList A matches have been played there. The first came in 1991 when Queensland played the touringWest Indians, while the second saw Queensland play the touringZimbabweans in 1995.[3]
In February 2016,Brisbane Broncos playedNorth Queensland Cowboys in aNational Rugby League trial fixture, with the attendance figure reported at 8,122.[4]
Salter Oval hosted Bundaberg's firstNational Rugby League match for premiership points on August 7, 2022 when theCanterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs took on theNorth Queensland Cowboys.[5]
