Salman Ali Agha[2] (born 23 November 1993), often erroneously calledAgha Salman,[3] is a Pakistani internationalcricketer who plays forSouthern Punjab in domestic matches, and forIslamabad United in thePakistan Super League. He is the captain of Pakistan in T-20I and vice-captain in ODI.

He made his international debut for thePakistan cricket team in July 2022, and is currently vice-captain of thePakistan cricket team in the short-overs format .[4]

Domestic career

In February 2013, he made his first-class debut after playing for Lahore's Apollo Cricket Club for many years.[5]

In April 2018, he was named inFederal Areas' squad for the2018 Pakistan Cup.[6][7]

In June 2018, he was selected to play for the Edmonton Royals in the players' draft for theinaugural edition of theGlobal T20 Canada tournament.[8][9] He was the leading run-scorer in the tournament for the Edmonton Royals, with 218 runs in six matches.[10]

In September 2019, he was named inSouthern Punjab's squad for the2019–20 Quaid-e-Azam Trophy tournament.[11]

In October 2021, he was named in thePakistan Shaheens squad for their tour of Sri Lanka.[12]

International career

In January 2021, he was named in Pakistan'sTest squad fortheir series against South Africa.[13][14]

In March 2021, he was again named in Pakistan's Test squad, this time fortheir series against Zimbabwe.[15][16]

In June 2021, Salman was named in Pakistan'sOne Day International (ODI) squad forthe series against England.[17]

In June 2022, he was named in Pakistan's Test squad fortheir two-match series in Sri Lanka.[18] He made his Test debut during that series.[19]

In August 2022, he was named in Pakistan's ODI squad, fortheir tour of the Netherlands.[20] He made his ODI debut during that series.[21] In September 2024, he was named in Pakistan’s squad for their test series against England at home.

In December 2022, he scored his maiden Test hundred.[22] In November 2023, he was named in Pakistan squad for Australian test tour.[23] In August 2024, he was named in Pakistan's squad for test series against Bangladesh at home.[24]

In February 2025 Salman scored his maiden ODI hundred.[25] With a must win match against South Africa in a tri-nation series involving Pakistan, New Zealand and South Africa cricket teams.
