Salif Mane (/ˈ s ɑː l ɪ f ˈ m ɑː n eɪ / SAH -lifMAH -nay ; born December 12, 2001)[ 1] is an Americantriple jumper . He won the US Olympic trials in 2024.[ 2]

Mane finished fourth in the triple jump at the 2023 USATF Outdoor Championships and was named as a reserve for the2023 World Athletics Championships .[ 3] He was runner up in theNACAC U23 Championships triple jump competition inSan Jose, Costa Rica in July 2023.[ 5]
He won the NCAA Division 1 Outdoor triple jump title inEugene, Oregon in June 2024 competing forFairleigh Dickinson University .[ 6] Prior to his time at FDU, Mane also competed forLincoln Blue Tigers inNCAA Division II .[ 7]
He won the2024 United States Olympic trials inEugene, Oregon on June 30, 2024, recording a personal best distance of 17.52 metres.[ 8] He subsequently competed in the triple jump at the2024 Paris Olympics , placing sixth overall.[ 9]
His parents moved to New York in the 1990s fromSenegal . He has two siblings, a brother and a sister. His mother, Fatou Seye, runs a hair-braiding business in theSouth Bronx . His father, Thierno Mane, died in April 2020 of thenovel coronavirus during theCOVID-19 pandemic .[ 10]
