The town is located on the right bank of theRhône, 205 meters above sea level, 35 kilometers northeast ofLyon, 13 kilometers fromAmbérieu-en-Bugey . On its territory is theBugey nuclear power plant as well as thePlaine de l'Ain industrial park .

The town is located in the small region of theAin plain, betweenBas-Bugey andCôtière .
