Sabine Dittmar (born 15 September 1964) is a German physician and politician of theSocial Democratic Party (SPD) from the state ofBavaria who has been serving as a member of theBundestag since 2013.[1]
In addition to her parliamentary work, Dittmar served asParliamentary State Secretary at theGerman Ministry of Health in the government ofChancellor Olaf Scholz from 2021 to 2025.[2]
From 1995 until 2010, Dittmar and her husband operated a private practice inMaßbach. Shortly after the outbreak of theCOVID-19 pandemic in Germany, Dittmar volunteered at a testing station in her constituency.[3]
From2008 until 2013, Dittmar served as a member of theState Parliament of Bavaria, where she was her parliamentary group's spokesperson for consumer protection.
Dittmar became a member of the Bundestag in the2013 German federal election, representing theBad Kissingen district.[4] She is a member of the Committee on Health and the Committee on Tourism.[5][6] In this capacity, she was her parliamentary group'srapporteur onpublic health insurance and pharmacies.[7] Since 2018, she has been serving as her group's spokesperson on health policy.
Within her parliamentary group, Dittmar has been part of working groups on the consequences of theCOVID-19 pandemic in Germany (since 2021) and health (since 2014).[8]
