Aleksandar "Saša" Matić (Serbian Cyrillic:Александар Саша Матић; born 26 April 1978) is aBosnian Serbpop-folk singer. He is the twin brother of fellow singerDejan Matić.

Matić was born on 26 April 1978 inBihać,SFR Yugoslavia. He has a twin brother,Dejan, who is also a well-known singer. They were bornprematurely and subsequently became completelyblind due to unexplained circumstances.[1] Matić initially grew up inDrvar, before moving to Belgrade with his family.[2]

During his childhood, he learned to play thepiano andaccordion.[2] Matić graduated from theZemun Gymnasium and the Music High School 'Kosta Manojlović'.[3] He has citedCroatian singer-songwriterOliver Dragojević as his musical influence.[4]

Career

Matić made his recording debut in 2001 with the albumProkleta je violina, which was released underGrand Production. He has released ten studio albums. Matić has collaborated with various regional singers, includingCeca,Severina,Jelena Karleuša,Aca Lukas,Mile Kitić,Jelena Rozga andMilica Pavlović.

Since March 2016, Matić has held several sold-out solo concerts at theBelgrade Arena.[5][6] He has also had regional, as well as international tours in theUnited States,Canada andAustralia.[7][8][9] In 2023, it was reported that Matić was the highest attended live act in 2022,Croatia with his four concerts at theArena Zagreb andSpaladium Arena, which were collectively attended by 80,000 people.[10]

Matić is married to Anđelija, with whom he has two daughters.[11][12]
