ST-1936, also known as2-methyl-5-chloro-N,N-dimethyltryptamine (2-methyl-5-chloro-DMT), is atryptamine derivative which is used inscientific research. It acts as aselective5-HT6 receptoragonist, with aKi of 13 nM, and much weaker action at5-HT2B and5-HT7 subtypes. In animal studies it has been found to increasedopamine andnoradrenaline mediated signalling but decreasesglutamatergic transmission, and hasantidepressant effects.[1][2][3][4]
