Brindisi Football Club is anItalian association football club located inBrindisi, in the region ofApulia in southern Italy.
Brindisi was founded in 1912 asF.B. Brindisi 1912 and refounded in 1990 and then refounded in 2004 and then refounded in 2011 and then refounded in 2015 with the current name.
The team played in Serie C2 in the2003–04 season. At the end of the year, the team went bankrupt and the new club was placed inEccellenza.
In the 2004–05 season ofEccellenza Apulia, Brindisi placed second, qualifying for the national playoffs. The team won its two rounds in the playoffs, thus winning promotion toSerie D.
For the next 4 season, the team played in Serie D. In the2008–09 season, Brindisi clinched first place in Girone H, thus gaining direct promotion toLega Pro Seconda Divisione.
In summer 2011, it did not appeal against the exclusion of Covisoc.
The club is restarted inSerie D with the new denomination ofSocietà Sportiva Dilettantistica Città di Brindisi.[1] It went bankrupt in only four years.
Real Paradiso Brindisi inPrima Categoria created the new Brindisi in 2015.Following the club promotion in Serie C at the end of the 2022/2023 season, they reached professional football again and dropped the "SSD" ("Società Sportiva Dilettantistica", which means "Amateur Sports Club" in italian) in their name, being for the first time in 33 years a fully professional football club again.
