SR 59230A is a selective antagonist of thebeta-3 adrenergic receptor,^[1]^[2]^[3] but was subsequently shown to also act at α₁ adrenoceptors at high doses.^[4] It has been shown to block thehyperthermia produced byMDMA in animal studies.^[5]
