Sunil Subasiri Abeysundara (15 April 1927 – 1989) was a Sri Lankan politician. He was theDeputy Minister of Fisheries and member ofParliament of Sri Lanka fromYatinuwara representing theUnited National Party.[1][2]
Abeysundara was elected to parliament from Yatinuwara in theMarch 1960 general election defeatingHector Kobbekaduwa (future presidential candidate) andD.B. Wijetunga (futurePresident of Sri Lanka), but lost his seat to in theJuly 1960 general election toU. B. Weerasekera. He was elected again in the1965 general election defeating Weerasekera. He then lost the1970 general election to Hector Kobbekaduwa and was able to defeat Kobbekaduwa in the1977 general election and was appointed Deputy Minister of Fisheries.
Abeysundara died in 1989.[3]
