Søren Torpegaard Lund (pronounced[ˈsøːɐ̯n̩ˈtʰɒːpəˌɡ̊ɒːˀlɔnˀ]; born 23 December 1998)[1] is a Danish actor, singer, and songwriter. He willrepresent Denmark in theEurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song "Før vi går hjem".
Lund was born inGudme[1][2] and grew up in the village ofOure inSvendborg Municipality. During his school years, he received his first training in theatre, dance, and music. At the age of 17, he was accepted to theMusicalakademiet, a branch of the Danish Stage Arts School (Den Danske Scenekunstskole), inFredericia. Lund became the youngest student ever at the academy.[3] There, he graduated with a bachelor's degree in 2019.
Lund began working as a musical performer, taking on roles in local productions of musicals such asWest Side Story,Dance of the Vampires, andKinky Boots.[4] He played the lead role of Tony inWest Side Story at theCopenhagen Opera House in 2021 and 2022. He received a talent award at theReumert, a Danish theatre prize, in 2021.[5]
In 2023, Lund participated in theDansk Melodi Grand Prix 2023, the Danish national selection for theEurovision Song Contest 2023.[6] There, his song "Lige her" did not place among the top three entries. In the same year, he released his first self-penned single, "Stor kunst".[7] In October 2024, he released his debut EP,Øjesten. In February 2026, he won theDansk Melodi Grand Prix 2026 with the song "Før vi går hjem". Lund thus earned the right to represent Denmark at theEurovision Song Contest 2026.[8][9]
