Sumbiar Ítróttarfelag, commonly known asSumba, was aFaroesefootball club based inSumba. In 2005 it merged withVB Vágur to form VB/Sumba, later renamedFC Suðuroy.

History

Founded in 1940, the club spent the majority of its existence in the lower tiers of Faroese football, winning the2. deild in 1982 and the1. deild in 1997. In 1995 the club merged withVB Vágur for the first time, formingSumba/VB, but the merger lasted only one season.[1]

In 2005 the club merged again withVB Vágur, this time to formVB/Sumba, which was renamed in 2010 toFC Suðuroy.[2]
