Rylstone Shire was alocal government area in theCentral West region ofNew South Wales, Australia.
Rylstone Shire was proclaimed on 7 March 1906, one of 134 shires created after the passing of theLocal Government (Shires) Act 1905.[1]
The shire offices were based inRylstone.[2] Other urban areas in the shire includedKandos andCharbon.[2]
Rylstone Shire was abolished and its area split on 26 May 2004 with part merged with parts ofCoolah Shire,Mudgee Shire andMerriwa Shire to formMid-Western Regional Council and the balance absorbed by theCity of Lithgow.[3]
