Ryan Danielle Torrero Rojas (born 1 September 1990), known asRyann Torrero, is afootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forColo-Colo. Born in the United States, she plays for theChile women's national team.[5]

Career

In high school, Torrero played for the Crusaders ofVillage Christian School, where she was the teamcaptain as a senior and a two-timeCIF first-team selection. She also played for the Real So Cal youth team, where she won the San Diego Surf Cup, the Coast Soccer League's Premier League and theSuper Y League. In college, she played in two matches for theWyoming Cowgirls in 2008. She took amedical redshirt for her 2009 season before transferring toCampbell University, where she played for theLady Camels from 2010 to 2012.[6] She made 37 appearances for the Lady Camels, and was included in theAtlantic Sun All-Academic Team in 2010.[7]

Torrero has appeared for theChile women's national team, including in a friendly match againstColombia on 16 May 2019.[8] She was included inChile's squad for the2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France, though she did not make an appearance.[1]

Torrero has also worked as a volunteer assistant coach for thePepperdine Waves women's soccer team since 2017.[9]

Personal life

Torrero is a native ofBurbank, California. Her father was born inChicago and is of Spanish descent.[10] She was eligible to play for Chile through her mother, who emigrated fromSantiago in her youth.[11] In 2016, Torrero was in a severetraffic collision onU.S. Route 101 nearCamarillo, which put her career on hiatus after suffering head, back and hip injuries.[12] She also works as amodel.[13]
