TheDiocese of Smolensk (Russian:Смоленская епархия) is aneparchy of theRussian Orthodox Church with its center inSmolensk. It was founded in 1137.[1]

In 2015Diocese of Vyazma was separated from the Diocese of Smolensk; the Smolensk and Vyazma dioceses were included to the newly formedMetropolitanate of Smolensk. In 2017 theDiocese of Roslavl was also separated from the Diocese of Smolensk and included to the Metropolitanate of Smolensk[2][3]

Current head of this diocese is metropolitanIsidore Tupikin since 2015.[2]
