Russell is anunincorporated community inLake County,Illinois, United States. The community is located on Russell Road, a few miles east ofInterstate 94 (also the terminus ofInterstate 41), and was named for industrialist and political figureRussell Sage, who was connected with theChicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad (Milwaukee Road, laterSoo Line Railroad and now,Canadian Pacific) which bisects the village.
