Running Wild is a 1955 Americanfilm noircrime film directed byAbner Biberman and starringWilliam Campbell,Mamie Van Doren,Keenan Wynn, andKathleen Case. The film was often paired withTarantula as part of adouble feature.[1]
Ralph Barton is a young rookie cop who goes undercover to infiltrate an auto-theft ring run by juvenile delinquents.
It was the first significant role for John Saxon, put under contract to Universal.[2]
The film is notable for a sequence where Van Doran and others dance to a recording of "Razzle-Dazzle" byBill Haley and His Comets. This came not long after the filmBlackboard Jungle had featured "Rock Around the Clock" and actually predated films such asThe Girl Can't Help It andRock Around the Clock which were among the firstrock and roll musicals.
Variety called it "okay".[3]
