
TheRue Molière is a short street in centralParis, in the1st arrondissement. It begins at theAvenue de l'Opéra, near theComédie-Française, and ends at theRue de Richelieu with theFontaine Molière.
It has borne several names, including theRue de la Fontaine-Molière, theRue Traversière-Saint-Honoré before 1843, earlier theRue Traversine orTraversante, and in 1625 theRue de la Brasserie orRue du Bâton-Royal.[1] It is notable for collège Jean-Baptiste-Poquelin, named after the playwright Jean-Baptiste-Poquelin, the real name ofMolière.
