Rodolfo Jesús Hernández (born April 9, 1968) is a Venezuelanprofessional baseballcoach and a formerminor leagueinfielder, coach andmanager. He has previously served as the assistant hitting coach for theMinnesota Twins ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).[1] He was born inMaracay,Aragua,Venezuela.

Career

A formersecond baseman andthird baseman, Hernández played for five seasons (1987–91) in theNew York Mets'farm system, peaking at theDouble-A level. Hebatted .250 in 493games played. He threw and batted right-handed and was listed at 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall and 160 pounds (73 kg)

Hernández was named to managerPaul Molitor's 2015 coaching staff after serving for 14 seasons as a coach and instructor in the Twins' minor-league system, including managerial assignments with theRookie-levelElizabethton Twins (2001) andGulf Coast League Twins (2002–03).[1] He previously worked as a Venezuela-basedscout for the Twins. At the time of his appointment, Hernández was also serving as bench coach with theAragua Tigers of theVenezuelan Winter League.[2] On October 2, 2024, Hernández and the Twins organization parted ways.[3]
