Rubetsu (Japanese: 留別村,Rubetsu-mura,Russian: Рубэцу) is avillage inEtorofu District, both of which are located in the disputedNorthern Territories area of theKuril Islands. It is currently administered byRussia as part ofKurilsky District inSakhalin Oblast, although Japan continues to claim it as part ofHokkaido Prefecture.[1]
