Rubén Martín Ruiz Díaz Romero (born 11 November 1969) is a Paraguayan former professional footballer who played as agoalkeeper. He was nicknamed "Puchi" and "La Bomba" during his career. He represented Paraguay at the1998 FIFA World Cup. In the 1990s, he became a referent of the Mexican outfitMonterrey.

Club career

Born inAsunción, Ruiz Díaz began playing football in the youth side ofClub Rubio Ñu, before making his senior debut for the club at age 15. He played professional football in thePrimera División Argentina andPrimera División de México.^[2]

International career

Ruiz Díaz made his international debut for theParaguay national team on 9 July 1989 in a1989 Copa América match againstBrazil (2–0 loss). He obtained a total number of 11 international caps, earning his last cap in 1998.
