Rubén González Alves (born 7 September 1994) is a Brazilian professionalfootballer who plays forCórdoba CF. Mainly acentral defender, he can also play as aleft back.
Born inRio de Janeiro to a Basque father and a Brazilian mother,[2] Alves moved toBilbao,Biscay,Basque Country at nine months of age[3] and was aSantutxu FC youth graduate. After making his senior debut in 2013, he went on to become a regular starter for the side inTercera División before signing forSegunda División B sideSD Amorebieta on 1 July 2015.[4]
On 25 June 2017, Alves agreed to a two-year contract withBarakaldo CF, also in the third division.[5] An immediate first-choice, he moved to fellow league teamCD Atlético Baleares on 14 July 2018.[6]
On 19 July 2019, Alves joinedUD Ibiza still in division three, on a 1+1 deal.[7] He renewed his contract for a further year on 9 August 2020,[8] and helped the club in their first-ever promotion toSegunda División at the end ofthe campaign; he extended his link for a further year on 30 June 2021.[9]
Alves made his professional debut at the age of 26 on 13 August 2021, starting in a 0–0 away draw againstReal Zaragoza.[10] On 14 June of the following year, he signed a two-year contract withRacing de Santander,recently promoted to the second division.[11]
Alves left Racing on 11 June 2024, after failing to agree new terms,[12] and agreed to a three-year deal with fellow second division sideCD Tenerife on 31 July.[13] The following 30 January, however, he moved toCórdoba CF in the same category on loan.[14]
On 7 June 2025, Alves signed a permanent three-year contract with theBlanquiverdes.[15]
