Route 94 serves eastern and centralMissouri. The entire route closely parallels theMissouri River.[1] The eastern terminus is atU.S. Route 67 inWest Alton; its western terminus is at the intersection ofU.S. Route 54 andU.S. Route 63 inJefferson City.
Route 94 was one of the original 1922 highways, but its western terminus was inSt. Charles atRoute 2 (nowU.S. Route 40) andRoute 9 (nowU.S. Route 61). US 40/61 are now part ofInterstate 64, an important freeway in the area.
This highwayjoins withRoute 364 for a short distance inSt. Charles County. In addition, Route 94joins withRoute 47 for a short distance inWarren County. Route 94 makes up one side of the Golden Triangle in St. Charles County.In 2006 the north part of 94 towardsWest Alton was under heavy re-construction to widen both lanes to make it safer for traffic.
