Rosières-aux-Salines (French pronunciation:[ʁozjɛʁosalin]) is acommune in theMeurthe-et-Moselledépartement in north-easternFrance.
In the past, inhabitants of Rosières-aux-Salines were insultingly known by their neighbours asoua-oua (pronounced "wa-wa"), on account of aspeech defect caused by a localthyroid condition, which was considered hilarious.[3]
