TheDiocese of Huarí (Latin:Dioecesis Huariensis) is aLatin Church ecclesiastical territory ordiocese of theCatholic Church inPeru. Erected as a Territorial Prelature in 1958, elevation to a full diocese occurred in April 2008. It is asuffragan diocese in theecclesiastical province of themetropolitanArchdiocese of Trujillo.
On 15 May 1958Pope Pius XII established theTerritorial Prelature of Huarí with territory taken from theHuánuco and theDiocese of Huaraz. It was elevated to a diocese byPope Benedict XVI on 2 April 2008.[1][2]
