Roland Garros Airport (French:Aéroport de la Réunion Roland Garros) (IATA:RUN,ICAO:FMEE), formerly known as Gillot Airport, is an international airport located inSainte-Marie onRéunion,France.[6] The airport is 7 kilometres (3.8 NM) east[2] ofSaint-Denis; it is named after theFrench aviatorRoland Garros, who was born in Saint-Denis.



Roland Garros Airport is the hub ofAir Austral and served 2,293,042 passengers in 2017 (8.8% more than in 2016).[7] Air Austral also has its head office on the airport property.[8] WhenAir Bourbon existed until 2004, its head office also was on the airport property.[9] The airport is at anelevation of 20 m (66 ft) abovemean sea level. It has twoasphalt pavedrunways: 12/30 measuring 3,200 by 45 metres (10,499 ft × 148 ft) and 14/32 measuring 2,670 by 45 metres (8,760 ft × 148 ft).[3]
It operatesthe world's three longest domestic flight routes; to Paris (Charles De Gaulle and Orly) and to Marseille.[10]
It was once planned to construct aRéunion Tram Train to link the airport to the capitalSaint-Denis andSaint-Paul, but plans for the construction were abandoned in 2013.
