Roger Delaney (born 27 February 1966) is a formerAustralian rules footballer who played forFitzroy in theAustralian Football League (AFL) in 1990.[1] He was recruited from thePort Adelaide Football Club in theSouth Australian National Football League (SANFL) with the 23rd selection in the1989 VFL Draft.

Playing career

Delaney played over 200 games forPort Adelaide in the SANFL and after retiring from playing, he became an assistant coach to former Port teammateMark Williams atPort Adelaide in theAustralian Football League (AFL). For the 2011 season he became the coach of theMaroochy/North Shore Australian Football Club in theQueensland Australian Football League on theSunshine Coast, Queensland.[2]

Family

Delaney is married toJacqui Delaney, the formerAustralia netball international. They have three children, Yasmine (b. 1998) and twins Cooper and Jada (born c. 2006). The Delaneys settled inSydney and then theSunshine Coast. They live and work in theCoolum Beach/Peregian Beach/Noosa district.[3][4][5][6]
