Roberto Cammarelle (born 30 July, 1980) is an Italianamateur boxer, best known for winning theWorld Amateur Boxing Championships in2007 (Chicago) and2009 (Milan) as asuper heavyweight and agold medal at the2008Olympic Games inBeijing.[2][3] He won a silver medal in 2012 London Olympic Games, losing toAnthony Joshua.
Roberto Cammarelle was born inCinisello Balsamo (Milan), fromLucanian parents, his father Angelo Cammarelle is fromRionero in Vulture and his mother Giovanna Caraffa fromFiliano.[citation needed] He is a member of theItalian State Police.[citation needed]
He also won aSuper Heavyweight bronze medal at the2004 Summer Olympics and a silver medal at the2004 European Amateur Boxing Championships inPula,Croatia. Thesouthpaw also won the bronze medal at the2005 World Amateur Boxing Championships inMianyang.He is 190 cm tall and weighs 103 kg.
