Robert M. Goldman is an American physician, author,martial artist,sports and physical culture advocate, teacher, historian and an expert insports medicine andanti-aging and regenerative medicine.[1][2]

Career

Goldman earned the first of his two PhDs in 'Androgenic Anabolic Steroid Biochemistry' and pioneered the development of drug testing protocols for theIFBB,NPC[3] andOlympic Games. His second PhD in sports medicine ultimately led to the establishment of the 'High Technology Fitness Research Institute' inChicago, Illinois which scientifically assess all types of fitness equipment. Goldman also holds anMD and aDO and oversaw research and development inNASA,FDA,Red Cross andUS Department of Defense.[4][5]

During his younger days, Goldman was an all-college athlete in four sports and developed special interest in physical strength andcalisthenics. He started to break strength world records at the age of 14, andGuinness World Records credits Goldman with over 20 world records including 13,500 consecutive straight leg sit-ups and 321 consecutive handstand push-ups.[4] Goldman is also an avid martial artist and a recipient of seventh degreeblack belt inTang Soo Do, sixth degree black belts inShotokan, Karate andKung Fu and also an expert in Chinese weapons. His expertise in myriad martial arts paved the way for him to be inducted into multiple Martial Arts Hall of Fames.

Goldman served as the chairman of the International Medical Commission for over 30 years, overseeing sports medicine committees in over 194 countries. He co-founded the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) with Dr. Ronald M. Klatz and founded the National Academy of Sports Medicine and Tarsus medical group.[6][1] He also served as a council member of thePresident's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition under several US presidents. Goldman is a member of the editorial boards of 12 medical journals and holds visiting professorships at several medical universities around the world.[7] He also holds over 150 medicalpatents in the areas of trauma and emergency medicine,organ transplantation, blood preservation, brain resuscitation, and has authored more than 50 books.[6]

Goldman is also the founder and chairman of theInternational Sports Hall of Fame which honours world's greatest athlete legends and luminaries in all categories of sports.[8][9] From 2012 to 2025, 79 distinguished individuals have been inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame. For his lifetime contributions to the fitness industry, sports performance and its promotion,Arnold Schwarzenegger bestowed his 'Arnold Classic Lifetime Achievement Award' of 2018 to Goldman.[1]

In 2022 and 2023, theWorld Intellectual Property Organization and a private arbitrator ruled that Robert Goldman had acted in bad faith by holding domain names that were confusingly similar to trademarks owned byMeta Platforms andState Farm.[10][11][12]
