Robert Nicholas Street (born 26 September 2001) is an English professionalfootballer who plays as astriker forEFL League One clubLincoln City.
Street began his career withCrystal Palace, signing his first professional contract with them in 2020. He spent time on loan atTorquay United,Newport County andShrewsbury Town, before signing forCheltenham Town on a free transfer in 2023. A year later he joinedLincoln City.
Born inOxford,[1] Street began his career withCrystal Palace. He was released at the age of eight, and proceeded to represent his countySurrey and play for theWhyteleafe under-15s.[2] He returned to Crystal Palace after a successful trial.[2][3] He quickly moved up the youth ranks, being promoted to the under-23 squad at age 16.[2] He turned professional in the summer of 2020.[4]
Street joinedTorquay United on loan in January 2021.[5] He made his Torquay debut on 26 January in a 0–0 draw againstSutton United.[6] However, he struggled for gametime, and returned to Crystal Palace in March following 5 appearances without scoring.[1][7]
Despite suffering an injury in November 2021 in theEFL Trophy,[2] Street scored 6 goals in 14 games for theCrystal Palace under-21s.[8] In January 2022, Street was then loaned toNewport County for the remainder of the2021–22 season.[9] He made his debut for Newport on 29 January as a second-half substitute in the 2–1League Two win againstBarrow.[10] His first start came on 26 February in a 4–2 win overTranmere Rovers.[11] Street scored his first goal for Newport (and his first senior goal) in the 2–0 League Two win against Stevenage on 12 March.[12] He ended his loan spell with 2 goals in 18 appearances.[13]
Street joinedShrewsbury Town on a season-long loan in September 2022.[14][15] He made his debut on 3 September in a 2–0 win overForest Green Rovers.[16] He made his full debut on 13 September in a 3–2 victory overExeter City.[17] He scored his first goal on 10 December in a 3–2 win againstBolton Wanderers.[18] He finished his loan with 4 goals in 43 appearances.[19] He later praised Shrewsbury managerSteve Cotterill, saying, "He was absolutely brilliant for me and one of the best managers I've ever experienced."[2]
In the summer of 2023, Street was offered a new contract by Crystal Palace.[20] However, he rejected the offer as he did not want to go back out on loan, and was released by the club.[2] On 30 June 2023, Street joinedLeague One sideCheltenham Town on a free transfer, signing a three-year contract.[21][19][22] He made his debut on 5 August in a 1–0 defeat against former club Shrewsbury.[23] He scored his first goal for Cheltenham on 7 October, in a 1–1 draw againstDerby County.[24] He suffered a knee injury in January 2024 in a match against Derby County, leaving him out for the rest of the season.[25] He finished the season with 3 goals in 26 appearances,[26] as the club was relegated toLeague Two.[27]
On 2 July 2024, Street signed forLincoln City on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.[28][29] He made his debut on 10 August in a 3–2 win overBurton Albion.[30] His first goal came in a 5–0 win in theEFL Trophy againstManchester City U21 on 13 November.[31] He only made 6 league appearances before going out on loan in 2025.[32]
On 3 January 2025, Street signed on loan withDoncaster Rovers for the remainder of the season.[33][32] He scored on his debut for the club in a 2–1 defeat toPort Vale on 4 January.[34]
The following season, he returned to Lincoln City, starting the opening day of the2025–26 season againstReading, where his deflected shot went in offFinley Burns for the opening goal.[35] He scored his first goal on his return againstHarrogate Town, scoring the third in a 3–1 victory in theEFL Cup.[36] His first league goal for Lincoln City came in the 1–0 win againstStevenage in October 2025.[37]
