Rizal's 2nd congressional district is one of the sixcongressional districts of the Philippines in the province ofRizal. It has been represented in theHouse of Representatives of the Philippines since 1916 and earlier in thePhilippine Assembly from 1907 to 1916.[3] The district consists of the municipalities ofBaras,Cardona,Jalajala,Morong,Pililla,Tanay andTeresa. It is currently represented in the20th Congress byEmigdio P. Tanjuatco III of theNationalist People's Coalition (NPC).[4]

Prior to its second dissolution in 1972, the district consisted of towns that all currently remain in Rizal, as well as the present-dayMetro Manila cities ofPasig (the then-seat of Rizal provincial government),Marikina, andQuezon City's eastern part that was previously under both aforementioned cities,Montalban (now Rodriguez), andSan Mateo. After the creation of Metro Manila in 1975, the second district then comprises the northern and eastern part of the reduced province of Rizal beginning in 1987. In 2021, the municipalities of Rodriguez and San Mateo, which have been part of the 2nd district since its creation, have been separated from the district to form the3rd and4th districts, respectively,[5] by virtue of Republic Act No. 11533.[6]
