
River Tigris orTigris (named after theTigris river) was aconstellation, introduced in 1612 byPetrus Plancius.[1] One end was near the shoulder ofOphiuchus and the other was nearPegasus, and in between it passed through the area now occupied byVulpecula, flowing betweenCygnus andAquila.[1] It did not appear onHevelius' atlas of 1687 orJohann Bode'sUranographia atlas of 1801 and was quickly forgotten.[1]
