Rimfaxe (Danish:Rimfaxe Gletscher[1]) is aglacier of theKing Frederick VI Coast in theSermersooq municipality, southeasternGreenland.
This glacier is named afterHrimfaxi, the cosmic horse ofNorse mythology.
Rimfaxe is a large, active glacier flowing from the eastern side of theGreenland ice sheet.[2]
The Rimfaxe glacier flows roughly southeastward between high peaks and has its terminus in theSehested Fjord shortly after its confluence with theGuldfaxe Glacier that joins it from the west. The smallerYgdrasil glacier flows to the east, running parallel to it, and has itsterminus in a lake that discharges right by the terminus of the Rimfaxe.[3]
