Rilmazolam, is abenzodiazepine derivative which acts as asedative andhypnotic drug, and the active metabolite of the drugRilmazafone.[1] It has never been developed for medical uses, yet the aforementioned prodrug is an approved medication inJapan. It is primarily metabolized to desmethylrilmazolam, di-desmethylrilmazolam, and carboxy rilmazolam[2]
