Thomas Frederick Jones (born April 16, 1955) is a formerstarting pitcher inMajor League Baseball who played from1976 through1978 for theBoston Red Sox (1976) andSeattle Mariners (1977–78). Listed at 6 ft 5 in (1.96 m), 190 lb, he batted and threwleft-handed.
He was traded along withEnrique Romo andTom McMillan from the Mariners to thePittsburgh Pirates forMario Mendoza,Odell Jones andRafael Vásquez at theWinter Meetings on December 5, 1978.[1]
In a three-year career, Jones posted a 6–9 record with 72strikeouts and a 4.02ERA in 159.0 innings of work.
Following his career in the majors, Jones pitched one more season in the minor leagues in 1979 for thePortland Beavers of thePacific Coast League.
