

TheRice Belt of theUnited States includesArkansas,Louisiana,Mississippi, andTexas, foursouthern U.S. states that grow a significant portion of the nation'srice crop. The name is in conformity with theCorn Belt of theMidwestern United States, in which much of the nation'scorn is grown.
Arkansas is the nation's leading rice producer, followed byCalifornia (not part of the Rice Belt), Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, andMissouri (bordering on, but not part of, the Rice Belt).
