Ricardo Zamora de Grassa (6 August 1933 – 31 January 2003) was a Spanishfootballer who played as agoalkeeper.
He played 162 games inLa Liga forAtlético Madrid,Espanyol,Mallorca andValencia. Zamora, also known asRicardo Zamora II, was the son of international goalkeeperRicardo Zamora.[1]
Born inMadrid, Zamora began his career atSalamanca before moving toLa Liga clubAtlético de Madrid. After three seasons as a reserve at the club, he was signed byRCD Espanyol, while his father was managing the club. In order to avoid accusations of nepotism, he was loaned out toSegunda División clubCD Málaga, after talks withTerrassa fell through, and after one season, he was loaned out again, this time toSabadell, where he spent two seasons. Only in 1958-59 he debuted for Espanyol, but spent the season mainly as a reserve forJosé Vicente.[2] After that season, he transferred toRCD Mallorca, where he won theSegunda División title. After two seasons for Mallorca in the first level, he was signed byValencia. After four seasons in the club, where he won twoInter-Cities Fairs Cups, Zamora retired.[3] He died on 31 January 2003, aged 69.[4]
