Reshma Nilofer Visalakshi is an Indianmaritime pilot who currently involves in steering ships from sea to Kolkata & Haldia port.[1] She became the first Indian as well as one among world's very few female marine pilots after qualifying as a river pilot in 2018.[2] She receivedNari Shakti Puraskar Award in 2019 from the current Indian PresidentRam Nath Kovind.[3]
She joined theKolkata Port Trust in 2011 as a trainee and becameHooghly River pilot in 2018.[4] She holds a B.E inMarine Technology fromBirla Institute of Technology,Ranchi.[5]
