Reporting Live (sometimes stylised asReporting LIVE with Stan Grant and formerly known asNewsNight) is an Australian television news and commentary program broadcast four times weekly onSky News Australia. Hosted by Sky News international editorStan Grant, it first premiered asNewsNight on 28 January 2013 at 11 pmAEST, with a focus on international affairs.[1] The program covers a range of news, as well as interviews conducted by Grant, with a "special focus on world affairs and in particular the Asian region".[1][2]

The program rebranded asReporting Live from 20 January 2014 and moved to the earlier timeslot of 6 pm AEST, competing against networkedSeven News andNine News bulletins in the timeslot.[3] It returned for a third season in 2015[4] and was expanded to two hours in duration from 1 June 2015, following the move ofPVO NewsHour from the 7 pm AEST timetslot.[5]

The program returned for a fourth season in 2016, but was reduced to a single hour to accommodate the launch ofThe Latest with Laura Jayes launching at 7pm AEST.[6] Grant took extended leave from Sky News in March, withJim Middleton andHelen Dalley among those filling in as anchor.

It was subsequently announced thatReporting Live would go onhiatus from May 2016, later brought forward to late April.[7]The Latest took over the timeslot, itself moved to accommodate the relaunch ofThe Bolt Report.[8] It was reported that Grant was "winding back his duties" at Sky News in August 2016, suggesting the program may not return.[9]

The program is broadcast from the Sky News centre in the Sydney suburb ofMacquarie Park.
