Renato Borghetti (born July 23, 1963)[1] is a Brazilianfolk musician andcomposer.
Borghetti was born inPorto Alegre. He works in many genres including traditional styles from his home state ofRio Grande do Sul, other styles of Brazilian music likesamba, and international genres likejazz and Europeanclassical music. His main instrument is thediatonic button accordion (gaita). He won aLatin Grammy in 2005 for Best Brazilian Roots/Regional Album, for his album Gaita Ponto Com.
In 2009 he performed at theWomex festival.[2]
