Reid Ewing (born November 7, 1988)[1] is an American actor and musician widely known for his role as Dylan Marshall in theABC sitcomModern Family (2009–2020), and as Charlie Plunk in the TV seriesZeke and Luther (2009–2011).[2]
Ewing is fromBroward County, Florida. He appeared in theater productions in theSouth Florida area.[3] He studied at theDreyfoos School of the Arts inWest Palm Beach and theSchool for Film and Television in New York City before moving to Los Angeles.[4][5]
In April 2010, he was cast for theMTV filmThe Truth Below.[2]
In addition to acting, Ewing plays the piano, guitar, and banjo.[3] He wrote the song "In the Moonlight (Do Me)", which his character performed onModern Family.[6]
In 2010 he also released his first and only single Traffic Jam.[7]
In 2011, he appeared inWendy's "Where's the beef?" commercials.[8]
In 2015, Ewing revealed that he has suffered frombody dysmorphic disorder, which resulted in several cosmetic surgeries.[9] Hecame out as gay on November 23, 2015, while again addressing his body dysmorphia.[10][11]
