Aregidor (plural:regidores) is a member of a council of municipalities inSpain andLatin America.Portugal also used to have the same office ofregedor.
In Mexico, anayuntamiento (municipal council) is composed of amunicipal president (mayor), one or twosíndicos (attorney general) and several regidores who meet incabildo (council) sessions. A regidor is the community representative (commissioner) before the municipal government.[1]
