The Redmi 8 is a line of Android-based smartphones as part of the Redmi series, a sub-brand of Xiaomi Inc. The main modelRedmi 8 was announced on October 9, 2019, and released on October 12, 2019. On October 12, 2019 theRedmi 8A was announced and marketed as a lite model of Redmi 8. In India, on February 11, 2020, theRedmi 8A Dual was announced, which has a different camera setup compared to the Redmi 8A.[6] On April 2, 2020 the Redmi 8A Dual was announced in Indonesia as theRedmi 8A Pro.[7]
The front is made ofGorilla Glass 5 while the back is made of plastic.
On the bottom of smartphones, the user can findUSB-C port, speaker, microphone and3.5mm audio jack. On the top, there is an additional microphone andIR blaster. On the left, there is adual SIM tray withmicroSD slot. On the right, are the volume rocker and the power button. Also, Redmi 8 has a fingerprint scanner on the back under the camera island.
