TheXiaomi Redmi 4 andXiaomi Redmi 4 Prime (also known asXiaomi Redmi 4 Pro) areAndroidsmartphones ofXiaomi that belongs to theRedmi series. They were announced on November 4, 2016 alongsideXiaomi Redmi 4A.[3]
The screen is made of glass. The case of smartphones is made of aluminum with a plastic strip on top.
From the back, the smartphones look similar to theRedmi Note 4. In terms of design, the smartphones differ only in the LED flash placing (in the Redmi 4, it is to the right of the camera, and in the Redmi 4 Prime, it is to the left).
At the bottom are themicroUSB port, the speaker and the speaker-styled microphone. On top are3.5 mm audio jack, a second microphone andIR port. On the left side there is a hybrid slot for 2SIM cards or 1 SIM card and amicroSD memory card up to 128 GB. On the right side are the volume rocker and the smartphone lock button. The fingerprint sensor is placed on the back.
The Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime were sold in 3 colors:dark gray,silver andgold.
The Redmi 4 received aQualcommSnapdragon 435SoC with an Adreno 505GPU and was , while Redmi 4 Prime received aQualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC and an Adreno 506 GPU. The base model was sold in 2/16 GB memory configuration, while the Prime model was sold in the 3/32 GB memory configuration. Both models use anLPPDR4Xmemory and aneMMC 5.1storage.
The models have a non-removable 4100 mAhLi-Po battery.
The Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime received the main 13 MP camera with an f/2.2aperture andphase detection autofocus and thefront-facing 5 MP camera with an f/2.2 aperture. Both cameras can record video at up to1080p@30fps.
The smartphones received a 5-inchIPSLCD display with anaspect ratio of 16:9. The Redmi 4 display has anHD (1280 × 720pixels)resolution with apixel density of 296 ppi, while on the Redmi 4 Prime it isFull HD (1920 × 1080) and 441 ppi respectively.
The models were launched withMIUI 8 based onAndroid 6.0.1 Marshmallow and have been updated toMIUI 10.
