RealMedia is a proprietarymultimediacontainer format created byRealNetworks with thefilename extension .rm. RealMedia is used in conjunction withRealVideo andRealAudio, while also being used forstreaming content over the Internet. Typically these streams are in CBR (constant bitrate), but a container for VBR (variable bitrate) streams namedRMVB (RealMedia variable bitrate) has been developed.
