Rawhi Mushtaha (Arabic:روحي مشتهى; died 2024) was a Palestinian militant and a founding member ofHamas. He was the head of theHamas government in the Gaza Strip. In October 2024, it was announced that he had been killed in an Israeli airstrike three months earlier.[1][2][3][4] In January 2025, Hamas confirmed his death in an Israeli air strike.[5]

Biography

In 2012, Mushtaha was elected to serve as a member of thepolitical bureau of Hamas. In 2015, his name was added to the US State Department's list of specially declared global terrorists, along withMuhammad Deif andYahya Sinwar.[6]
